Okay, so — my secret shame is that I actually find this really romantic: this idea that Yuri is fighting to realise Alice’s dreams because she can’t realise them now; — that he’s fighting to stay alive because that was one of her dreams. That he loved her because of the dreams she had for the world — and he can’t accept that there’s nothing worth saving about the world because she never did. And he can’t allow himself to believe that there’s nothing worth saving about himself for the same reason.
I just wish that Alice had been a more fully-realised character (I mean, there was some stuff going on there but it could have been teased out a lot more) — and that the relationship dynamic in the first game had been more, you know, something other than what it was. But everything about it in this game is kind of perfect. To me, at least. With my many emotional problems.
