I’m sorry, have I been sucked into some void where people don’t realize child abuse is more than just hitting a kid?  How can you not look at a video of a parent taking a gun to one of his daughter’s possessions and think that’s okay?  That that somehow falls under the umbrella of “good parenting.”  Or, even worse, go on about how if more parents took initiative like that, children would be much better behaved.  Really?  More parents should use a fucking lethal weapon to intimidate and/or punish their children when they don’t behave?  Like, how the fuck is this an actual argument we’re having in 2012.  That’s abuse.  It’s not okay, no matter how you rationalize it.
